Omas Tokyo Fountain Pen, designed by Ettore Sottsass
1999 was the year Italian designer and architect Ettore Sottsass seemed to take a special interest in the stationery field. Indeed earlier this year we presented the melamine tray he designed in Japan for the desk.
That same year Sottsass collaborated with Italian pen maker Omas, reputed for high quality nibs, and created his own writing tool collection Tokyo. Having lead in the 1980s, Milan based design group Memphis - known for its wonderful and bizarre geometric and colourful patterned aesthetics and laminate and plastic materials.
For lovers of design and fountain pen we have sourced this fountain pen rarity: the Omas Tokyo in 18k gold nib, here presented in Navy Blue.
