Gansai Watercolour Trilogy Art Set

£103.00

This set is based on 4 simple, but best-selling products which put together make a thoughtful gift for someone with a finely tuned sense of aesthetics. Indeed enclosed you will find 3 conceptual small paint sets, inspired by the chromatic zeitgeist of three stylistically defining decades. Each can be used on its own and provides a narrow palette which in its minimalism can provide the creative framework for more experimental expression. These paints, known as Gansai in Japan, are slightly thicker and certainly more opaque than the Western counterpart, watercolours. They could be likened to gouaches, and growing in popularity for their ease of use. A bit of water and these can be used straight out of their box. Each box has been lovingly lined with Japanese silk screen paper in line with expectation where Japanese packaging is concerned.

Also included a hardback notebook with beautifully soft paper, this can be used with pencil, fountain pen and paints. Not least the set is completed with a versatile calligraphy brush both to lay down washes and flat colour, as well as for fine detail.

This set includes:

- 1960s Gansai Set, 1970s Gansai Set and 1980s Gansai Set
- a large hardback sketching Notebook
- a precise inking and drawing paintbrush

Each element can be purchased separately as well by clicking on the links.
Each set comes gift wrapped unless otherwise advised.
