Stainless Steel Kaweco Liliput Fountain Pen
£100.00
Choosing Keeping holds the largest range of Kaweco pens in the UK - indeed we have built a long-lasting friendship with the beloved Gutberlet family who run the company with so much brains and gusto. Kaweco is often mistaken for a Japanese brand - not so! - it is 100% German. Originally established in 1899 in Heidelberg (also home of Lamy), the company was eventually renamed Kaweco as its owners namesake, Henrich Koch and Rudolph Weber - KOch, WEber and COmpany. Here pictured, an advertisement from 1911 which declares, ‘stocked in every best stationery store’ - still the case!
This extra-compact model, the Liliput - named for the island nation of miniature humans visited in Gulliver's Travels (Jonathan Swift, 1726) - was first issued in 1910, but went through several changes before being re-released in 2011. It is the smallest Kaweco model available; indeed, when closed, this fountain pen is a mere 9.6cm, with a diameter of only 0.95cm! It remains one of the smallest models, across brands, to take the international short standard ink cartridge. The Liliput is available in five finishes: brass (in smooth or wavy), copper, aluminium (in silver or black), stainless steel, and fireblue torched stainless steel.
The stainless steel finish will not oxidise or rust, and the surface will remain exactly the same, over time and with use. A perfectly weighted companion, at your desk or on the go. Also available in a matching capped ballpoint.
We recommend posting the cap on the back for extra length, balance, and comfort.
Slip-on clip is optional and can be purchased separately here.
