Historical Trapulka Playing Cards, Venetian Pattern

£27.50

How could one imagine that 2020 might be the best year for the advancement of playing cards. Indeed nothing better than a good old lockdown to take up traditional hobbies. Consider this 16th century Trapulka game for two players, one of the lesser known trick-taking games (such as Belote, Tarot or Bridge), for a bit of entertainment.

This deck of 36 cards includes playing instructions. Popular in Central Europe circa 1600, trick-taking games are making a huge comeback, so don't let a couple centuries phase you.

A natural progression for our shop and our love of paper, given the parallel narrative between card manufacturing and decorative paper making both utilising the craft knowledge of woodblock print.
