Choosing Keeping Round Gift Box, Pink and Blue

£15.00

In the 17th Century, it was the fashion to wear large ruffs around one's neck (think Harlequin) made out of pleated muslin or linen; those were at the time called bands, and the cylindrical boxes which were used to store them, bandboxes.

Bandboxes were later used to contain hats when fashions changed, but with the disappearance of these accessories from the modern wardrobe the bandbox became a memory of the past for the general consumer.

In the here and now, with frilly neck accessories (unfortunately) out of fashion, you can use our band boxes for gifting, especially if the present in question is awkwardly shaped; alternatively, employ around the house to store Christmas ornaments, confectionery and all manner of knick-knacks. You can also purchase our cylindrical boxes filled with Italian candy or German chocolate, which make for delightful festive presents.

Inside there is an additional piece of twine so both handles can be brought together and tied neatly into a bow, keeps contents inside firmly within.
