This Japanese writing equipment powerhouse had already explored this difficult mechanism and launched in 1965 its first "knock" pen on the occasion of the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 1964. Consider Curidas Platinum's second generation retractable pen, which comes serendipitously on the occasion of Tokyo's 2020 Olympics, a new an improved version on the original with a youthful futuristic design.
The mechanism incorporates a sealed nib pocket, preventing any ink dry out for 6 months! The clip can be removed with the use of a special tool provided with each pen.
